Our Ministries
Worship Ministry
The Worship Ministry plays a vital role in shaping the spiritual life of our congregation. This ministry helps plan and lead corporate worship while working closely with the minister, prepares and serves communion, and welcomes new members into our community. It coordinates worship assistance—including liturgists, ushers, and greeters—and provides support for flowers, music, and receptions for weddings, memorials, and other sacred occasions. The ministry also nurtures the beauty of our worship through liturgical arts, ensuring that every service is both meaningful and inviting.
The Worship Ministry is facilitated by Sue Armentrout and Terri Wyborny. Would you like to volunteer? Contact them for more information.
Finance and Property Ministry
The Finance and Property Ministry oversees the stewardship of our church’s resources and facilities. This ministry formulates and presents the annual budget, directs the financial affairs of the church, and ensures support for Our Church’s Wider Mission (OCWM). It also cares for the church property, develops programs for pledges, and encourages planned giving and special gifts. In addition, the ministry authorizes limited extra-budgetary expenses and conducts yearly reviews of staff remuneration, helping to sustain both the financial health and the physical space of our congregation.
The Finance and Property Ministry is facilitated by Matt Hoekstra. Would you like to volunteer? Contact them for more information.
Caring Ministry
Our Caring Ministry is dedicated to ensuring that every member of our congregation feels supported, valued, and embraced in Christ’s love. Through programs such as Stephen Ministry, Parish Nurse Ministry, Visitation, Prayer Chain, Greeting Cards, and Meals & Rides, we extend care and compassion to those in need. We also offer hospitality through initiatives like bus transportation, support for Pacific University students, faculty, and staff, the Prayer Shawl Ministry, and our Peace Table Dinner. Together, these ministries embody our commitment to walking alongside one another in times of joy and challenge, creating a community where care and connection flourish.

Christian Nurture Ministry
The Christian Nurture Ministry oversees the educational and fellowship life of our congregation. This ministry appoints teachers for Church School, advisors for youth groups, and staff for the church library, ensuring that resources and guidance are available for all ages. Beyond education, Christian Nurture also fosters fellowship activities that strengthen our internal community, helping us grow together in faith, wisdom, and connection.

Christian Outreach Ministry
Christian Outreach Ministries connects our congregation with service agencies and partners at the local, regional, national, and global levels. We engage in issues of justice and peace through initiatives such as The Blessing Box, Indivisible, VONA, Family Promise, and other growing partnerships that support our wider community. Our ministry also extends globally through World Mission, collaboration with ecumenical partners in the community, and covenant relationships with the Central Pacific Conference and the National United Church of Christ. In addition, we participate in special offerings—including Neighbors in Need, One Great Hour of Sharing, Christmas Eve, and Strengthen the Church—that allow us to join with others in responding to needs near and far. Together, these ministries embody our commitment to faithful service, justice, and compassion.
