This evening will consist of a conversation between RUru and Rabbi Fora followed by questions and answers over a dinner featuring Palestinian cuisine.
Meet our guests:
Rabbi Fora: Fora is a long-time peace advocate and activist committed to interfaith dialogue and the principle of Tikkun Olam, trans. “repairing the world.” In 2010, Fora helped found the first Gay/Straight Alliance at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas. They served on Austin’s Human Rights Commission as recently as 2016. They are a two-time fellow of the National Young Leaders Conference, Fora has been an ordained rabbi since 2010 and is honored to bring their perspective in this critkal moment.
Ruru: is a Palestinian woman from Jerusalem. She is a core member of Portland’s Arab-American community. She identifies as, “an advocate for Mother Earth and all her inhabitants.” Run appreciates this opportunity to offer perspective with the intention of inviting all people to live into their humanity.
Merchandise will be sold at the even with the proceeds going to “World Kitchen” which is providing much-needed humanitarian relief for the people of Gaza.
